Dr. Nasir Zaidi gave his presentation on What is Like to Be a Muslim in the Multi-faith Canadian Society at the Cross-Cultural Forum Understanding and Inclusion. The program was organized by the Organizing Committee of BC Diversity Harmonization Society, BC Muslim Association, and BC Cross-Culture Research Center. The program was sponsored by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation and Centre for Chinese Research, UBC.
Dr. Nasir Zaidi mentioned that according to the Quran, being a Canadian Muslim, one has to work on common grounds, invite others with the wisdom and the best manner and listen to what is being said and follow the best of it, and pay respect to the followers of all religion.
This forum aimed to offer an opportunity for the Chinese Canadians to understand the Canadian Muslim community and culture in order to promote inclusion and celebrate diversity within the society.
